Sketchbook - Collection

In the world of advertising, where ideas are constantly being tossed around in brainstorms and briefing sessions, I started to notice something—something that wasn’t part of the final product but felt just as valuable. It was the sketches, the doodles, the little moments of creativity that happened on the side. While sitting in meetings with some incredibly talented creatives, I’d catch glimpses of what they were sketching as we talked. There they were, drawing these amazing layouts, doodles, characters—things that weren’t planned or polished, just completely spontaneous and raw.

A designer friend drew this while we were in a meeting.

I was fascinated by it. These weren’t pieces meant for presentation or approval; they were just bursts of creativity spilling out onto the page. Every now and then, I’d ask, “Can I keep that?” or I’d snap a photo to save it. It wasn’t just about the drawings themselves, but the energy behind them—the freedom to create without overthinking, without a goal.

That energy inspired me to do the same. I started saving my own scamps and layouts—those rough, quick sketches that captured an idea before it was fully formed. Over time, I built a little archive of these moments, alongside the ones I’d collected from others. It was all unfiltered, unpolished, but there was an honesty to it that often felt more real than the polished work we ended up presenting.

A scamp I drew for a Visit Britain campaign.

That’s where Sketchbook comes from. It’s about capturing that raw, unpretentious creativity—the kind that happens when you’re not trying too hard. These designs aren’t cleaned up or smoothed out; they hold onto the imperfections, the messy beginnings of ideas, the charm of something that’s just been sketched in the moment.

This collection is a tribute to the creative process itself. To the beauty of the scribbled lines, the half-formed ideas, the spark that starts it all. Sketchbook isn’t about perfect art—it’s about real art.
